Clinton Foundation, Rocky Mountain Institute to Coordinate Renewable Energy Push in Barbuda

The Clinton Foundation and the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) announced a new effort to redesign Barbuda’s power sector and to shift to a renewable energy model. Following the devastation in Barbuda from Hurricane Irma this year, the Clinton Foundation and RMI have been invited to work with the Government and the Utility to lend expertise and technical resources to the planning, design and construction of new resilient and sustainable clean energy projects.

…Transitioning to clean energy can help island nations like Antigua & Barbuda address the need for greater resiliency from climate change, mitigate the effects of climate change, and lower electricity generating costs.


One America Appeal Raises Over $41 Million for Hurricane Relief

Special Appeal uniting five former presidents inspires over 110,000 donors for recovery efforts in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands

The One America Appeal led by former Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama today announced that it had discontinued accepting donations after raising over $41 million for hurricane relief efforts in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In total, more than 110,000 donors gave $41.3 million, which was distributed quickly to critical relief efforts in the affected areas.

Bush Library Celebrates Black History Month with Special Art Exhibit, Feb 9-22

To recognize the outstanding contributions to our community by local African American artists, the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, and the Multicultural Arts Alliance present the 3rd Annual Art Past and Present: From a Black Artist’s Perspective, a special art exhibit opening on February 9, 2018.

Black History Month, or National African American History Month, is an annual celebration of achievements made by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role they have played in U.S. history. Every American president since President Gerald Ford in 1976, has issued an annual proclamation to celebrate February as Black History Month.



Now the most comprehensive exhibition of Genghis Khan and his treasures invades the Reagan Library, its only Southern California stop on an international tour that has drawn more than a million visitors.

What do pants, the pony express, cannons, paper money, skis, violins, baklava and “hooray!” have in common? Answer: Genghis Khan introduced them all to the West.

This special exhibition presents a more complete image of the legendary leader whom Time Magazine and CNN named “The Man of the Millennium.”

The exhibition features more than 200 spectacular objects on display, including rare and sophisticated weapons, costumes, jewels, ornaments, instruments and numerous other fascinating relics and elaborate artifacts from 13th-century Mongolia, and also loans by private collectors from Mongolia, Azerbaijian and the United States


Earth and Sky one-man show by the Russian artist Alexey Begov at the Heydar Aliyev Center

The People’s Artist of Russia, the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Golden Knight of Societe Academique de France, Alexey Begov was born in 1951 in the village of Kozin, Kiev Region, Ukraine. After the whole family moved to Kazakhstan, he enrolled at the Department of Painting and Graphics of the State Pedagogical Institute in Almaty. Graphics, painting, and sculpture were of equal interest for young Alexey. This resulted in the gentle plasticity typical of his later works.

The exhibition features 50 canvases by the artist.

Alexey Begov passed away in 2014. The artist’s works are nowadays cherished at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Russia, the Modern Art Museum in New Jersey, the Barristers Association in Washington DC, the UN Office and in a number of private collections.

Alexey Begov’s one-man show at the Heydar Aliyev Center will run until May 11.


Women in the state, political and public life

The event "Women in the state, political and public life" with participation of the public association "Belarusian Union of Women" – the winner of an award of the President of Republic of Belarus "For spiritual revival" has taken place in the Presidential library of Republic of Belarus.

Now the union has more than 183 thousand women, over four thousand primary organizations which aim to strengthen the institution of the family, to protect the motherhood and the childhood work, and are engaged in active charity.

During the event an exhibition "World of an Embroidery through Modern Women's Eyes" was opened. Guests and readers of Presidential library of Republic of Belarus left their delighted entries in the visitors' book, noting the high level of the craftsmanship. The embroidered pictures not only transfer a broad outlook of authors, but speak about identity, exclusivity and eccentricity of their creators.


The presidential library of the Russian Federation presented movies of own production

In January, 2018 on the portal of Presidential library in the section "Internet broadcasting" films 'The Krasin Ice breaker. 100 years in the history of Russia' and 'To arrange so that everything becomes new …' were screened. The video production was prepared by television station of Presidential library.

The first movie tells the story of an ice breaker and its in development of the Arctic. In the movie opinions of experts are spoken out, frames of the chronicle, unique exhibits and documents from the museum are shown. Video has been created on materials of the exhibition of the same name of Presidential library. Movie duration is 13 min. 16 sec.

As name of the second movie "To Arrange so that Everything Becomes New…" Alexander Blok's words are used. Video is created on materials of the exhibition of the same name dated for the 100 anniversary of Revolution of 1917. The movie reveals how participants and witnesses evaluated and called a revolution of 1917. And what has really happened? The movie submits original certificates of those events: chronicle, memoirs, diaries and documents. Running time is 14 min. 33 sec.


The Presidential library of the Russian Federation has discussed an issue how to tear children away from gadgets and offer them "children's reading for heart and mind"

In Presidential library of the Russian Federation the round table devoted to problems and the prospects of development of children's and junior media has taken place. The editors-in-chief, publishers, the creative staff of the mass media focused on children's and youthful audience have been invited; the journalists beginning the professional way as youth correspondents; representatives of school, student's and library communities, public authorities were invited to take part in.

Participants of the round table have shared the vision of the present and future of children's journalism, have discussed its prospects and have partly given answers to questions: why editions and programs "for children and about children" lose popularity and what should be done in order to not give this part of media culture go to a blogosphere.


The presidential library of the Russian Federation develops network of access centers on the territory of Mongolia

On January 20 the remote electronic reading room of Presidential library was opened in Ulaanbaatar. It was set in the territory of the Mongolian state university of the post-higher education.

Today over 30 centers of remote access of Presidential library work in 27 foreign countries, including Germany, the USA, Italy, Spain, Austria, Great Britain and others. The centers are open on the basis of the Russian centers of science and culture and national libraries.


In January "The open lecture hall of RAS" started

On January 19 the presidential center of B.N. Yeltsin has begun the series of lectures "Open Lecture Hall of RAS" together with the Russian Academy of Sciences which is the leading center of basic researches in Russia.

It is possible to call the Open Lecture Hall of RAS project exclusive: leaders of the Russian science rarely talk about the unique discovery and developments.

Listeners of a lecture hall will be able to learn about the most interesting and bright discoveries by the Russian scientists which have changed the face of world science, as well as about the advanced techniques and innovations developed by the Russian scientists.


The program to the birthday of Boris Yeltsin

On February 1, 1931 the first President of Russia Boris Nikolaevich Yeltsin was born. By day of his birth in Yeltsin Center in Yekaterinburg the special program for children and adults is prepared. The event includes a concert, film screenings, a photo exhibition, excursions of original formats and a quiz quest. Each participant can count on a prize from store rooms of museum shop of the 90th years.
