On October 15, 2019, in the Museum of the Library of Elbassy for students of the capital school No. 38 the lesson-excursion "Tereń maǵynaly ǵuryptyq zattar – tatýlyq belgіsі retіnde" took place. The lesson was held next to the exposition dedicated to the main world religions.
Special attention was paid to the creation and activities of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions has become a unique platform for interreligious dialogue and cooperation. In September this year, the working group of the Secretariat proposed to adopt a special document at the seventh Congress, which would reflect the outstanding role of the initiator of the interreligious forum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy N. Nazarbayev in the creation of a global dialogue platform.
During the lesson, students got acquainted with the gifts presented by representatives of various faiths, participants of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to Elbassy N. Nazarbayev.
After the lecture, the participants shared their impressions.
Kenzhegul Ayana, the pupil of the 6th grade of school No. 38:
- I learned a lot about Christianity, Islam, and symbols of these religions. I think that it is useful for everyone to know about the basics of religions. It is good that in our country all religions coexist peacefully.
Diana Kairbek, a student of the 6th grade of school No. 38:
- Most of all I was impressed by the lecturer's story about Buddhism and Judaism. I used to know almost nothing about these religions. It was interesting for me to learn that the Jews do not touch the Holy Scriptures with their hands but use a special pointer for reading. I liked the story about Buddha and his life. It was nice to know that our country is known and respected by all world religious leaders. There are many gifts from different faiths. I am in this Museum for the first time and hope to come here again.
Noraylym Alkenova, English teacher of lyceum № 38:
- Everyone enjoyed the lesson very much. At school, we learn the basics of world religions, but here students can see religious attributes, learn how they are created and what philosophical and religious meaning they have. Especially children were impressed by gifts from representatives of different faiths - original and very unusual. It was interesting to learn about the activities of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Most of the students are for the first time at such an event in the Museum. In fact, children have discovered a completely new world.
