On November 20, within the decade of events dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the museum of the Library of Elbassy held the opening of the exhibition "Youth of the Great Steppe".
The event was attended by figures of culture and art, representatives of the diplomatic corps and ethno-cultural сenters, teachers, and students of universities and colleges of Nur-Sultan.
- Dear participants and guests! We are glad to welcome you at the opening of the decade of the Library of Elbassy, dedicated to the upcoming Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is gratifying that the decade opens with the exhibition "Youth of the Great Steppe". I want to express my gratitude to the Union of Artists of the capital and to all our authors who submitted their works to the authoritative jury. All works are very individual but they are united by an equally reverent attitude to the cultural heritage of the native land. The works of the winners of our contest will add to the collection of works of fine and decorative arts of the Library of Elbassy. This is very significant both for the authors and for us. Freedom of creativity is given not only for self-expression but also for fixing the past, present, and future by means of high art. For any author, the opportunity to transfer his creation to eternal storage as part of the cultural heritage of the people is the highest award. I am sure that participation in the competition gave a new creative impetus to our artists. We, as grateful spectators, will wait for their new creative achievements, said Amerkhan Rakhimzhanov, Director of the Elbassy Library, opening the exhibition.
- I am very glad to see here so many people interested in art who came to get acquainted with the works of the winners of the competition. It is gratifying that the artists responded to our call and were able to embody in their works their own vision of the creative ideas of the article "Seven facets of the Great Steppe", said Omirali Ismailov, Сhairman of the Union of Artists of Nur-Sultan.
The exhibition is the result of the II stage of the National Creative Contest "Zhastar - el Tiregi," announced in February this year by the Library of Elbassy and the Union of Artists of Nur-Sultan. The main objectives of the contest are the practical implementation of creative ideas of Elbassy, set out in the article "Seven facets of the Great Steppe", and the formation of "actual gallery of images of great personalities of the past" through classical fine and decorative arts.
The contest dedicated to the Year of Youth was held among the beginner and professional artists, sculptors, masters of decorative and applied arts and art critics of Kazakhstan in two age categories: 18-35 years old and from 36 upwards. Following the results of the I stage of the competition in July this year, an exhibition of works of participants and an award ceremony were held.
During the event, the winners of the II stage of the competition were honored. The winner of the Grand Prix was Zamzagul Aralbaeva.
- I presented to the contest a felt panel "Tree of life". I participate in such contest not for the first time but today for the first time I received the Grand Prix in my country, in Kazakhstan. For me it is very important and very exciting. I have been engaged in felting for a long time and I believe that it is necessary to preserve and develop this traditional form of decorative and applied art of our people, she shared her impressions.
The first place in the category "painting" was taken by Renat Elubaev, in the category "graphics" - Omirbek Tleuliev, in the "decorative and applied art" category - Marash Kenyeva, in the "sculpture" category - Tleuzhan Batanov.
