On June 11, 2019 at 17.00 the Library of Elbassy (Bokeikhan str., 1) opens the exhibition of Korean chopsticks "K-Chopsticks: Connection". The exhibition is dedicated to 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.

The event was organized within the framework of the international exhibition project of the Library "Dialogue through culture" joint with the Korean cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Kazakhstan with the assistance of the city of Jeonju administration and the Fund for promotion of the cultural industry of Jeonju city.

The exhibition of Korean chopsticks "K-Chopsticks: Connection" will introduce visitors to the Korean food culture, as well as a unique collection of tableware, each of which is an artwork. The exhibition will feature flatware, lacquered by master Kim Sonho; chopsticks of pepper tree Pundi  of master Li Changuk; cases for tableware of master Lee Sora; cutlery of Korean traditional bronze "Yuga" of master Pak Sangta, and other works of art that tell the story of the Jeonju city.

In total, the exhibition will feature about 400 works by 46 masters of applied art of the city of Jeonju. Previously, these works were exhibited in the city of Bangkok (Thailand) in 2017 and the Sydney city (Australia) in 2018.

On June 12, the Korean cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (11 A. Imanov Street) will host special introductory master classes, where everyone will be able to make their own chopsticks.


The exhibition "K-Chopsticks: Connection" will last until August 11, 2019.
