On October 23, in the Museum of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy the opening of the exhibition of diploma works by graduates of the Kokshetau Children's Art School "Tugan olkem" took place.  The exhibition presents more than 50 works in different genres and techniques.

- Kokshetau is famous for its rich historical and cultural heritage. Today, in the Museum of the Elbassy Library, the works of talented children from Kokshetau, who were able to express the full power of love for their native land in their artistic works are exhibited. It is very important that the continuity of art is embodied in the works of children. This is a great merit of teachers of additional education and parents who bring their children to art schools, - said at the opening of the exhibition Director of the Library of Elbassy Amerkhan Rahimzhanov.


The exhibition is held within the framework of the Republican program to support children's creativity and organizations of additional education "Tugan olkem". The partner of the project is the children's art school "UNESCO Club" Nur-Sultan.

Director of Children’s Art School "UNESCO Club" Nur-Sultan Gulziya Isenova, also attended the event. She congratulated the staff of the children's art school of Kokshetau on the opening of the exhibition in the capital and expressed gratitude to the executives of the Library of Elbassy for supporting children's creativity and providing a platform.

The Republican program to support children's creativity "Tugan olkem", which emerged as a response to the program article of N. Nazarbayev "Ruhani zhangyru" is aimed at identifying young talents and promoting the work of organizations of additional education of the Republic. Over two years of the program implementation, exhibitions of the best works of graduates of Art Schools of Semey, Shymkent, Pavlodar, Ekibastuz, Temirtau, and Karaganda were presented in the Library of Elbassy.

- Regional art schools program "Tugan olkem" gives the opportunity to exhibit at professional venues, in exhibition spaces such as the Library of Elbassy. It is honorable for us. Thanks to the initiators and organizers of the project. Today here we present 50 final examination paintings and applied works of our students, made in different techniques: carpet weaving, dry and wet felting, oil, acrylic painting, and graphics. The level of teachers of the children's art school of Kokshetau is very high, we have six members of the Union of Artists. Famous sculptor Rinat Abenov is a graduate of our school, the author of the monument to Kerey and Zhanibek, the monument "Qazaq elіne myń alǵys", the monument to General I. Panfilov and other sculptures in Astana and other cities of Kazakhstan. Artist Bulat Mekebayev is a laureate of many international competitions and an example of a true Kazakh patriot. Living for more than 20 years in Germany, he keeps promoting the culture and history of his native people with his art, - said Director of the Art School of Kokshetau, a member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan Yulia Zhelobkova.

As part of the opening of the exhibition, there were also master classes "Fluid art" (drawing with liquid acrylic) and "Doodling" (monogram in the technique of doodling) by teachers of the Kokshetau Art Schools Akmaral Sarsenbaeva and Tatiana Solovieva.

- I really liked the master class. We got acquainted with a new, very interesting technique. I will definitely try to do some of my work with liquid acrylic. I liked the exhibition, very beautiful works are presented, Lisa Kopylova - a participant of masterclasses, a student of the 4th class of the Nur-Sultan medical school, shared her impressions.

Kokshetau Children's Art School was founded in 1979. Active, creative work carried out by teachers and students allowed the school to take a special place in the life of the city. Students of Kokshetau School are regular participants of international, national, regional and city festivals, competitions, exhibitions. 


Works of pupils of the school were presented in Russia, Japan, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and the USA. Over the 40 years of its existence, more than 2,000 children have graduated from Children's Art School. Many of them became professional artists, architects, designers, and sculptors.


The exhibition runs until November 23, 2019.
