Days of Azerbaijani Culture starts in Cannes with the organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Opening of the exhibition «Love Tandem», comprised of works by noted Azerbaijani artists Latif Feyzullayev and Vajiha Samadova, took place in the Palace of Festivals and Congresses in the French city of Cannes in the limits of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture, July 14.

The exhibition are displayed over 50 works by the couple, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Honoured Person of Art of Azerbaijan Latif Feyzullayev.

The exhibition «Love Tandem» will be until on August 4.

By the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Days of Azerbaijani Culture have been held in Cannes since 2013. Various exhibitions and concert programmes are arranged regularly within the project, aiming to promote Azerbaijan’s history, culture and art, and strengthen the relations between the countries and peoples.


An exhibition dedicated to Shah Ismail Khatai opens at the Heydar Aliyev Centre

On July 19, opening of the exhibition entitled “Literary Treasure”, dedicated to Azerbaijani people’s great son, commander and poet Shah Ismail Khatai, took place at the Heydar Aliyev Centre.

The exhibition was organized with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Uffizi Gallery of Florence, the Heydar Aliyev Centre, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Italy, and the Embassy of Italy in Azerbaijan.

The exhibition takes the audience back to the eras while Shah Ismail and his son and heir Shah Tahmasib ruled the country. Literature and art experienced flourishing while they were in power. Those years have formed the scientific and creative potential of statehood, unification of Azerbaijani lands within the state of Safavids was accomplished, the Azerbaijani language started to have superior power in state affairs, and extensive trade ties were established with european countries.

However, the genuine culmination of the exhibition is two original portraits of Shah Ismail and his son Shah Tahmasib brought for the first time by Uffuzi Gallery of Florence to Azerbaijan. They made by Christofano Dell ‘Altissimo.


Opening of the exhibition «Chronicle of war in Mikhail Ptashuk's films» in the Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus

On July 10, in the Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus was held opening an interactive exhibition in the framework of the project «Literature in Art» dedicated to the anniversary of the Belarusian director M. Ptashuk.

This exhibition is peculiar chronicle of war in the films of the outstanding director Mikhail Nikolayevich Ptashuk. The exhibition is based on the films «Знак беды (Sign of Trouble)», «I'll Take Your Pain», «The Moment of Truth («In August 44»)».

Printed matters of screened works, personal items of the director, including a cloak that was his unique talisman, awards, costumes and props that were used in the filming of well-known Belarusian films about the war and other are presented at the exhibition.

The exhibition will be until on September 3, 2018.


The Presidential library of RF has released album of winners of the «Foreign View» contest

The eighth album of winners of the «Foreign View» contest of the Presidential Library under the motto «Ecology of Life» has been released.

Through their photo and video materials, the authors tried to draw attention to environmental problems. 3603 works were sent to the contest. The results of their work were shared by participants from more than 20 countries of the world, 60 cities and populated points of Russia. For the first time, not only photographs were taken, but also documentary chronicles, archive video materials and shooting from personal archives. 45 videos were received.

Currently, you can already send works to participate in the ninth «Foreign View» contest dedicated to the Year of the Volunteer in Russia. It is held under the motto «Freedom to Support».

Acceptance of photo and video works will run until January 14, 2019.


The Presidential library features collection dedicated to Vladimir Mayakovski’s 125th birth anniversary

On July 19, 2018 marks Vladimir Mayakovski’s 125th birth anniversary, who is one of the greatest poets of the 20th century, who vividly declared himself as a playwright, screenwriter, director, actor, artist, publicist and editor. By this date, the Presidential Library has made available an electronic collection «V.V. Mayakovski (1893-1930)».

The collection includes not only the first editions of the writer's works, but also critical articles, obituaries of writers to Mayakovski’s death, portraits of the poet and images of monuments in his honor, as well as abstracts of research papers examining various aspects of his life and work.


Days of the Romanovs. Program

In July 2018 marks 100 years since the execution of the family of Nicholas II in the Ipatiev House and the subsequent execution of other members of the imperial family in Alapayevsk.

The annual festival of orthodox culture «Royal Days» will be held in Yekaterinburg in memory of these tragic events. B.N. Yeltsin Presidential Center offers a special program dedicated to the last days of the House of Romanov. Thematic excursions and special projects will take place in the exposition of the museum, and the lectures by the Ural and Moscow researchers and publicists will be held in the Yeltsin Center's lecture halls.


Library of the United States Congress will introduce visitors to the culture of East Asia

A display of the culture of East Asia will highlight the Library of Congress’ series of events being presented in conjunction with Otakon, Washington, D.C.’s annual convention celebrating Asian pop culture (anime, manga, music, movies, video games, etc.) and its fandom. The Library of the US Congress plans to the inhabitants of Otakon, Washington, DC to introduce the culture of East Asia with famed Japanese writer and director Kihara Hirokatsu. The series of events will showcase Japanese historical traditions, acquaintance with ancient and modern art. Japanese folk music, modern Japanese movie and anime will be presented to the visitors.

The event will be till on August, 11.


National Library of France will reveal the mystery of cinema

From July 29 to August 31, the National Library of France will present more than 50 most popular films with special effects. Visitors will be offered not only a show, but also an explanation of the technology for creating visual effects Visitors will be able not only to see, but to learn the technology of creating visual effects.

The history of special effects in films will be shown by films created from 1898 to the present.


National Library of France has opened a virtual space

Since July 17 of this year, the National Library of France offers public access to 9 virtual spaces (interactive zones with 3D glasses). Visitors will be able to travel in the depths of space, immerse on the seabed and see the world through the eyes of a robot.
